This resource avoids being patronising and over simplistic as it seeks to help young people wrestle with meaty questions and relate what they are learning to their lives.
At first I was slightly confused by the highly glossy, magazine style layout of “Guide to knowing God”. I wasn’t sure whether I was meant to read it like a book, or flick through it like a magazine. However, I soon realised that this is one of the strengths of this resource – because you can easily do both! I’m sure that you will get the most out of it if you read it cover-to-cover like a book, but it’s also easy to delve in-and-out of like a magazine. The fact that it’s broken down into short chapters, with each chapter being made up of several shorter sections – all with very clear, eye-catching headings, makes both the book and magazine approaches possible.
