Description
The youth version of the world renowned course that gives people “an opportunity to explore the meaning of life.”
The leaders guide (including a CD-Rom containing the entire guide in PDF format) is accompanied by high-quality, magazine style, participants manuals, one for younger and one for older youth. The Youth Alpha manual is very easy to use and is crammed full of ideas, including plenty of practical advice on preparing for a course and running sessions. The guide contains three ways of running the course, depending on the setting:
- Tech Stream – using multimedia technology
- Active Stream – using interactive teaching material
- Lite Stream – a short version designed for use in school groups.
Youth Alpha is suitable for groups of ‘all shapes and sizes’, and the course material can be adapted to a wide variety of contexts and levels. In Alpha’s own words, “We hope that this manual will equip you to bring alive the truth of God’s love to those who have grown tried of listening AND to those who have never heard,”
The structure and basic content of material is the same as the hugely successful adult Alpha Course, and churches will take or leave this according to their probably well-formulated view of Alpha. Specifically, there is an emphasis on the person and work of the Holy Spirit from which some non-Charismatics may diverge.
