Description
Eight sessions on the Bible, us and other faiths for 14-18 year olds.
Faith Values isn’t primarily about teaching young people facts about other faiths (although there is a component of this), it’s not seeking to point out where they’re wrong and we’re right, its number one concern is “How can we show them Jesus in a way that makes sense to them?”
The sessions contain a variety of ideas including activities, talks, illustrations and discussion questions. Each session is divided up into three main sections:
- Starting it – ideas to get into it
- Teaching it – the main teaching content
- Doing it – application ideas
The material provides an excellent structure and is highly adaptable. Each section contains several ideas for you to choose between and there’s a helpful rating system which indicates whether an idea is essential, or should only be used if there’s time. There is also background reading for leaders and a photocopyable worksheet to accompany each session.
The resource seeks to help us rediscover the ways in which the Bible speaks into a multi-faith context. The Bible forms the basis to each of these engaging and informative sessions. Faith Values will help equip young people to live out and communicate the Christian faith in today’s multi-faith context.
