Description
A subscription website resourcing youth and children’s ministry. The site includes a wide range of meeting plans, articles, drama sketches and training resources.
Meeting Plans
Energize offers adaptable, creative meeting plans for three different age groups (7-10s, 11-14s and 15+). The archive of material is updated monthly and can be printed or e-mailed directly to other leaders.
Content includes a 12 year thematic curriculum dealing with a range of big themes including apologetics, the nature of God, issues facing children and young people and Christian lifestyle. There is also ‘The Big Picture’ (a curriculum that provides a session on every book of the Bible) and ‘Christian Foundations’ (a series of 9 sessions, for each age group, that unpacks the gospel and seeks to help children and young people understand what it means to live the Christian life).
Drama
There’s a variety of inspiring and humorous drama sketches provided throughout the year to support the meeting plans.
Articles
At least four feature articles are published each month to assist in both the practical aspects of youth and children’s work and the ongoing spiritual development of leaders.
Training
The energize website contains a variety of interactive training materials. These are designed to help equip the whole team to work effectively with children and young people. All unites are downloadable and include a guide for the trainer, worksheets and PowerPoint presentations.
Mentoring
Urban Saints’ mentoring courses are also now available to download from the energize website.
This website contains so many excellent resources that it’s difficult to know where to begin! Fortunately this website has a very effective search facility which will help you locate what you’re looking for. It enables you to search for individual activities, meeting plans as well as entire series.
Once you’ve chosen which meeting plan you want to base your session on, you can select the specific activities you want to use and it will then re-calculate the total duration of the session. It also allows you to change the order of the activities, type in the names of the leader who will be responsible for each activity and add any additional information (e.g. birthday announcements and notices). You can then print out your tailor made programme and/or e-mail it to the other leaders.
This is a subscription site which can be accessed for £15 a month (Energize Standard). However, you may decide to choose the Energize Plus option. This costs £20 a month and will give your youth group access to Urban Saints’ CRB Disclosures application system, £5 million Public Liability Insurance, an up-to-date child protection policy and access to Urban Saints’ dedicated Volunteers Support Team.
