A seven week, evangelistic course that takes young people on a journey through Mark’s Gospel.
‘CY’ is the much anticipated youth edition of the ‘Christianity Explored’ course. It includes a comprehensive leader’s guide and a user guide in which participants can make notes during the sessions. ‘CY’ is suitable for 11-15 year olds and can be used with small and large groups. The course contains seven sessions with a weekend (or day) away between sessions six and seven.
The leaders guide is extremely helpful and aims to thoroughly prepare the leaders for the course. It provides lots of useful information including practical advice, talk outlines, background to Mark’s Gospel, tips for leading a small group discussion and a detailed overview of each session.
The sessions are designed to last for two hours (although this can be shortened if necessary) and are divided into five sections.
- Food – an opportunity for the leaders and young people to get to know each other.
- Group Activity – An icebreaker activity that introduces the theme.
- Explore – A short, interactive, Bible study from Mark’s gospel.
- Talk – Delivered by a leader using the talk outlines provided. Alternatively the ‘Christianity Explored’ DVDs can be used for most sessions.
- Talkback – An opportunity for the young people to discuss the issues raised during the talk.
